Big Opening Night In Orlando for

“A Night Out In Kabul”

 

            The stars were out for Full Sail University’s 2016 Grad Fest held at the Full Sail Live venue in Winter Park, Florida and all of the films in the showcase have been receiving rave reviews coming in but it was the tiny independent film “A Night Out In Kabul” that really shined in the festival.  The film stars Tyler Parker as “Michael” a former military contractor who looks back on his time overseas and the colorful characters that he spent that time with like his local driver, “Ali” played by new comer Zuhair Ahmed, his friend “Lee”, played by Jonathan Raffoul is a subtlety strong performance and the audacious “Ras” played by the hilarious Thomas Carter Rochester. Written by Director Cat Walling and based on true stories collected from various interviews with her friends who are former military contractors and their families.

 

            All of the films stars were present with the exception of the lead Tyler Parker who has already started to receive roles in Los Angeles based on his performance in the short film.  Director Cat Walling spoke about the importance of layering the true story underneath “It was really important for me to portray the situation there as it was told to me, Kabul is somewhere that stays on the precipice of danger and death while with your best friends, its about finding that line”.

 

            And find that line she did, “A Night Out In Kabul” is expected to hit the festival circuit toward the end of October and fans can watch the films for themselves at these film festivals:
